04:38 pm - Computer virus problem
I'm hoping someone can help me.

I keep having pop-under adds popping up in explorer all the time. There is one that pops up in firefox. I've run AVG virus and Add aware in safe mode and am still having problems. There were no problems in safe mode. I'm pretty sure it came from something I downloaded and clicked on. This has been deleted.

Is there anything I can do that I haven't tried yet? Any idea what's happening? Or am I stuck re-installing windows?

Yeah, I thought of using Spybot too. I haven't downloaded it yet.

AVG did catch a virus JP/Psyme or something like that and AdAware caught several malware things.

I'm not sure what virus it is. Every few minutes, an explorer window opens up with an ad. Just normal ads, ringtones, things like that. But every few minutes more open up. Some play sounds. The annoying ones require I click on a dialog box to get rid of. There is one that opens up on firefox for virus protection.

Since it's just ads, I'm thinking its some sort of aggressive adware/malware thing rather than a virus. Since it's targeting my web browsers, is it safe to think that I would need to edit those registry settings? If so, how? I have regedit, but don't know enough to make the correct changes.

Won't doing a clean install of windows erase all the previous registries?

Looks like spybot found something called FunWebProducts. This might be the problem. Let's hope so. It's a registry key.

I normally use Firefox as my browser and only use Explorer if I'm forced to.

I'd also recommend getting the NoScript addon for Firefox which can be found in the addon search on the Mozilla site.
