For me, I seem to be able to lose a lot of weight by restricting calories. However, I know that there are others, some on my friends list who have trouble beyond restricting calories.

I lose more weight by exercising and watching what I eat, although one of the meds I'm on makes it harder for me to lose weight & I think it's nullified the diet benefits. At least I'm going down instead of up, though.

Interesting article- serotonin is one of the major suspects in bi-polar disorder, too. Maybe there's a connection between me putting on weight & my brain melting. It does explain why the mood stabilizers have such an effect on weight.

Well, I used to lose weight by not eating period. That worked pretty well.

Once I got over that I didn't really gain weight. Then my hormones went nuts and despite my moderate fooding and moderate exercise I seem to gain weight.

35 tests later, I may have an idea why.

All that said, I see no value whatsoever in being skinny, other than not being hated by every breathing person. Provided I am healthy (which habit-wise I very much am), I don't care about that number.
