|01:31 am - Weekend|
It was a busy weekend. Saturday was my Grove's Lughnasadh Festival. It started around 11am and went to around 9pm. We had food, games and also a Greek ritual in addition to our main rite. I was sorry that odinkar couldn't make it. Perhaps Fall Equinox. The good news is that I'm the Grove Champion once again. Yay me! We had five games; a race, circle challenge, throwing for distance, vorpa (a norse game where you roll a stone to get closest to a stick in the ground without touching it), and games of 9-man morris. I took first place in the circle challenge and second in everything else. It was fairly exhausting, but I felt better than last year. The circle challenge was extremely rough as it was best out of three so needless to say, it was very tiring. There were several times, during a match, I and my opponent had to rest a bit before we could continue, but in the end I prevailed, in accordance with the prophesy.
Sunday was Guild Day, which was nice, except for being extremely sore all over. We discussed Lughnasadh and stuff. Someone new was supposed to show, but didn't.
I got the grass cut. Although I don't think I got all of them. I will let you all try to figure out which ones didn't make the cut.
Tomorrow the kitten goes in to get fixed. And her big brother goes in for yearly shots. We are planning on getting them both microchipped. I've heard that the vaccine for kitty AIDS will give a false positive if tested, so the microchip will let it be known that they are okay. Otherwise, if they ever got lost and wound up at an animal shelter, they would be automatically destroyed after getting tested.
Oh, and I ran 2 miles on Friday. Liz and I went to Bally's after work. I just ran around the track for a half hour. Okay, I did walk a couple of laps, but I ran the rest. I made sure I ran at least 2 miles. So now I know I can do it. I'm happy. Then I went on one machine to work my pecs and after that had to stop working out as I was feeling a bit dizzy and not good at all.
Edit. I was also sorry that moonstone1220 couldn't be at Lughnasadh as well. She had to work, unfortunately, and was missed.
Also, little Emma made it through her surgery okay. Liz will pick her up tomorrow.
Current Mood: tired
We didn't do any real games this year for some reason. Just too much going on I think. Though the teens and kids were able to play with archery for a while.
No one wanted to plan them, and I doubt anyone would've participated.

Well, ours wasn't timed very well. Things were running late, so by the time we started the games, people were eating. No one came to watch the three of us compete until they had finished eating. I only got one hamburger and a hot dog to eat. So much for getting the Champion's portion of the feast.

That was ridiculous...I shouldn't ask who planned and timed things, I guess. IMO the food should not have been "offered" to the group for eating until after you three were done competing. But since I wasn't there I guess I can't criticize. Still, I would have been fit to be tied by the disorganization.
Oh, and congrats on winning!:)
